|Mohammad Omar Abbadi|
Mr. Abbadi is an Economy Specialist with the United Nations Development Programme, Bureau for Development Policy, Gender Team, in New York. His main areas of work are in Gender and Poverty Reduction and Gender and the Economy. Since 2009, Mr. Abbadi has been implementing UNDP's flagship initiative, the Global Gender and Economic Policy Management (GEPMI) in Africa and more recently in the Arab States region. He also led on UNDP's work on the Financial and Economic Crisis and its Impact on Gender Equality and contributed to many publications. Prior to that Mohammad worked as an Economic Advisor to the Minster of Planning and International Cooperation of Jordan, leading on major portfolios, bilateral relations with donors as well as macroeconomic analysis. Mr. Abbadi has also worked in the private sector as a corporate consultant for Apple's Win Leads project, advising medium size firms in the North East of the USA on corporate IT and Business solutions. Mr. Abbadi holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hampshire College in Massachusetts, USA and a Master's degree in Public Management and Finance (MPA) from the State University of New York at Albany, USA.
