Merve Arabaci holds an M.Phil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. from New York University in Economics and Political Science. She has worked with the UNDP-RBAS Regional Centre in Cairo as an economist and consultant for the Poverty Team. She has conducted research on a wide range of issues including the political economy of food security in East Africa and trade and industrial policy in the Arab region. Her areas of interest include development economics and the macroeconomics of trade and finance, and poverty and inequality.
