My name is Joanna Szczepaniak-Sienniak. I am an assistant in Wrocław University of Economics in Department of Sociology and Social Policy and a lecturer in State Higher Vocational School (PWSZ) in Głogów in Institute of Economics.

My research relates to socio-economic and demographic conditions of changes of family and family policy in Poland in the light some European countries. Currently my research focuses on defining a new model of family policy in Poland.

I teach social policy, sociology, international economic relations, social aspects of labor market. I also organize annul scientific conferences on social policy and family policy. Furthermore, I am Vice-chairwoman of the Polish Society for Social Policy (PTPS), Lower Silesian Dept. – I am responsible for scientific activities and research in the field of social policy and family policy.

Gender themes in the context of ​​macroeconomics and international economics is a relatively new for me. I hope that my participation in Summer Institute 2012 will allow me to really expand my knowledge in this field. The purpose and guidelines resulting from the concept of gender equality I would like to include in the model of family policy, which I am going to describe in my author's book.
