Tamar Khitarishvili is a research scholar at the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College. Her research interests include gender economics, human capital and economic development, and the economics of transition countries. In her recent work, she has evaluated the presence of the added worker effect in transition countries during the 2008 financial crisis and assessed the gender wage gap in Georgia during 2004 – 2011. Tamar received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She is a 2009 GEM fellow. She resides in Annandale on Hudson, NY.
