Emily Thomson is a lecturer in the Economics and International Business group at Glasgow Caledonian University and Co-Director of the Women in Scotland’s Economy (WiSE) Research Centre. In this role, and in previous research positions, she has undertaken extensive research into gender-based occupational segregation and the Scottish Modern Apprenticeship programme. This was commissioned and published by the former Equal Opportunities Commission in Scotland. She has also carried out commissioned research for Close the Gap, investigating the business case for gender equality. Her teaching and research interests include feminist economics and international development. Emily is a member of the Scottish Women’s Budget Group and International Association for Feminist Economics.
